Uso di Real-time Studio (RtS) per il supporto di Sistemi e Software IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics)

Generic Open Architecture (GOA) is fast becoming the overarching framework for complex, highly distributed systems. There are many and varied reasons for adopting a GOA, ranging from ‘component-based reuse’, ‘interoperability’, ‘minimizing the impact of hardware obsolescence’, ‘portability’ and ‘static and dynamic reconfiguration of the system in the event of a failure’, to name but a few. These features of GOA’s offer compelling benefits at both the business and technical level. Applying component-based reuse and addressing hardware obsolescence can potentially provide significant cost-savings during both the development and maintenance of the systems.

This paper uses the term Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) as a specific application of a GOA i.e. specific to avionics systems, but this paper is not limited to just aerospace applications.
